Peruvian doctors in commemorative medals

Abstract

The history of Peruvian Medicine has been explored from various perspectives; one of them is medallistic, that branch of numismatics that studies everything
related to medals, through which we can find out facts and circumstances, not necessarily recorded in documents or images, which otherwise would have been
irretrievably lost; A small aspect of medical medals is made up of the pieces that present in their engravings the image of Peruvian doctors, in commemoration
of their fruitful career. The objective of this article is to rescue them and disseminate them as a significant and enduring sample of the charitable work of the
national medical order.
