Aortitis refers to inflammation of the aorta, which can be of non-infectious or infectious cause, generally diagnosed incidentally after histopathological studies of aortic surgical specimens. We present two cases of patients who presented with heart failure and severe aortic aneurysm, requiring surgery. The pathology report reported: aortitis. After complementary studies, it was concluded that it was an isolated aortitis and Takayasu arteritis. Follow-up by histopathology is highlighted, in search of a specific etiology, in order to offer treatment and follow-up according to the definitive diagnosis.
